Heavy Metal AnalysisYour urine can reveal how toxic you are...

Urine heavy metal analysis is an invaluable tool for the diagnosis or confirmation of toxic element burden and monitoring of detoxification therapy.

Human exposure to toxic metals used in industrial processes has increased dramatically during the last 50 years. Our food supply, air, land and water all become contaminated when by-products of industrial manufacturing are frequently dumped into the land, air and water.

Environmental exposure to toxic metals can have severe and detrimental effects, even at minute levels, but the effects vary with the mode and degree of exposure and with individual metabolism and detoxification.

Common symptoms linked to toxic metal exposure include the following for some common metals:

Arsenic: fatigue, headaches, dermatitis, increased salivation, weakness, hair loss, hypopigmentation of skin, anemia and skin rashes.

Cadmium: loss of sense of smell, anemia, dried scaly skin, hair loss, high blood pressure, and kidney problems.

Lead: (In Children), delayed mental development, hyperactivity, delayed learning and behavioral problems. (In children and adults), fatigue, anemia, metallic taste, loss of appetite, weight loss, headaches, insomnia, nervousness, and decreased nerve conduction.

Mercury: reduced sensory abilities, metallic taste with increased salivation, fatigue, anorexia, irritability, excitability, pyschosis, mania, anemia, paresthesias, tremors, incoordination, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and kidney dysfunction.

Dr. Eric R. Hampton and Dr. Melinda J. Whitsell of Westhampton Natural Medicine in Mesa, Arizona test levels of toxic heavy metals in the hair and the urine. Hair analysis provides good long term assessment, is non-invasive and inexpensive. Urine testing generally requires the use of a provocative challenge with EDTA administered intravenously and will show what elements your body is currently excreting.

We use several methods of detoxification to reduce and eliminate levels of toxic heavy metals from the body with intravenous therapy being the most effective.
